I like to eat Iranian food
They do not.
Food was so delicious, I tried the keimeh khoresh a couple of nights ago and today joojeh khoresh for lunch. Both so flavorful. Ask for persian tea before or after dinner, it completes your food or gives you a chance to converse with your friends while waiting for your food. As for appetizer, don't forget to try the stuffed cabbage, simply mouth watering. I really enjoyed my meal experience at Ahmad's and pricing was very fair!
Love this hidden gem, the food is fresh, authentic and the deserts are really good too!
My family and I were looking for something out of the ordinary and not offered back home. My wife read about Ahmad's so we decided to check it out. It is a small establishment, and we were seated right away as it seemed we beat the rush and it was a Tuesday night. Ahmad was very friendly and belief is through the menu. We ordered three appetizers (falafel, hummus and sedhal) and two Tehran Chickens. Ahmad took care of us, serving the Tehran Chickens family style. The flavors of the meal were amazing, and my boys, who never finish a plate clean, did it twice! We will definitely be coming back as this was one of the highlights of our Omaha visit!
OMG, What an fantastic atmosphere this place has : the aroma , the music , the food ( GOSH ) ! And Ahmad plays the Bongos too ( LOL).
I am writing to recommend this restaurant for grilled chicken and koobideh kebob, which were so good! Great experience.
The Tehran chicken was very well prepared. The owner Ahmad is very friendly and accommodating to customer needs. You can let them know how spicy you would like your meal to be - just let the person who takes your order know. On busy days a reservation would be helpful. If you are going to be there near closing time call ahead.
Small place but warm atmosphere. Food was great. Pricey but there is not too many places to find Persian food. Good place for a date night too.
This is amazing food! This is the first time we have tried Persian Food. We ate the Tehran Chicken, hummus and the Jujeh Khoresht. Thank you for being so kind and writing the instructions on our to go boxes after you heard that this was our first time there. We will be back!
Excellent family owned restaurant. First time here. The food was delicious. The owner was kind and did the cooking himself. Our server was gracious and friendly. Love the decor. Come check out this get in the Old Market
This place is amazing! If you are looking for new or unique flavors or just something different I'd recommend Ahmad's! Try the Kubideh Kabob!!
Very quaint OLD MARKET Persian fare restaurant . Excellent flavors , portions & service. Went on a Weds. evening and by 7ish all but one 4 top was occupied. Amad is a very gracious and genuine owner. As Arnold said it best " I'LL BE BACK " ...
Amazing! I love this place, everything I've tried has been great.
Ended up in Omaha after a long drive to learn the event we'd travelled for was cancelled. There were no shortage of restaurants in the area, but I'm so glad we stumbled across this little gem! The portions were perfectly sized, the service was kind and warm, and the food was delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I wish I were local so I could go back again. My meal was the Soltani Kebab, and the combination of flavors and textures between the saffron rice, roasted tomatoes, and tender seasoned meat was phenomenal. Even better was my friend's Fessen Jun: chicken in a sweet delicate sauce poured over rice. This dinner was truly the highlight of our trip to Omaha, and a must-try for any adventurous diner in the area.
Very disappointing meal. The dishes are simple yet overpriced -- rice, a meager salad and a bit of protein, but none of it has too much flavour. The falafel and hummus appetizers were the best part (actually very good falafel, not over-fried and perfectly textured on the inside). You're paying for the ambience and location, not the food. (Also: this is a small nitpicky thing, but the tablecloths have Hebrew on them, which feels weird for a Persian restaurant.)
I was in town for business and decided to go here for lunch. I ordered the Jujeh Kabob, hot black tea, and some hummus. The service was attentive and kind. You can tell the owners love what they do. The decor was immersive and beautiful. Most importantly, the food was absolutely amazing. Even if you are in town for a short while, like myself, I recommend you at least check this place out. Enjoy!
The people and food are excellent. The freshly made food here is my way of remembering what it was like to eat in that part of the world. This restaurant has been here a couple of decades and has earned it's regular visitors!
I really do like this place. Every month I go there. It is a great place. This place has a good management.I like the service.
Ahmad is so friendly and welcoming! I was a stranger in town all alone and he made me feel like a local. Cozy place with beautiful tablecloths, detailed artwork, and fresh, healthy, delicious food! I will return to Omaha just to revisit Ahmad and his restaurant!
The owner is lovely and the food is exciting and delicious
I'm gonna need a new spice rack trying to recreate such wonderful flavors. Thanks
This was my first time eating Persian cuisine but the food was delicious. I had a lamb dish, my friend had a chicken dish and we shared. They were both amazing and the owner/chef is incredibly friendly. He heard we had never had Persian food before and immediately came over to make recommendations. I'll definitely be eating there again.
We visited the restaurant for the first time and we had to wait 45 to get our food. We ordered shrimp with rice and salmon with rice. The taste wasn't Okay and the price was expensive. We liked the falafel. For sure, we won't be visiting again.
Excellent food. Juicy and sumptuous chicken.
Love the baklava here along with the potato and peas poloe. It's been a family tradition to come here every year since I can remember and every experience I have is amazing and authentic. I have even gone there twice in the past two weeks! Both the owners are down to earth and very sweet, and their food is well priced and absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back!
My Favorite spot in Omaha.Awesome Waitress, Great food!😃
I don't usually eat Middle Eastern food, but this was delicious! Not the biggest menu selection, but that is ok, because the food that is on it is delicious. Good portions, which are reflected in the slightly high price. The wait staff is super friendly and helpful, and Ahmad was super kind and enjoyable! Overall, cool atmosphere and a great place.
LOVED it! Great food, great service, and the staff is very friendly! There are options for vegetarians. The owner is beyond nice. I had a great time here, and recommend it to every one!
Absolutely awesome place. The food is amazing and the owner is very friendly.
It's been several months since my visit, so it should speak to the quality of the experience that I still only remember it being terrible. Not one single thing stood out, just overall bad value. The killer was the value of the food vs. price. We split a $35 "special" which was a variety platter. Being that it was priced 50% higher than other dishes, we expected it to be a large plate. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Would barely feed one person. The food was good, but seemed like food-truck quality, not living up to the fancy sit-down dining price tag.The building was also very old and run down, and seating area was tiny. Maybe 5 tables inside and 2 outside. That's it.Too bad we chose this place when there are clearly so many other options in the area, and we couldn't try them since we were on a quick stop from out of town.
Ahmad's is one of the most warm, welcoming establishments I've ever been in. I was made to feel comfortable from the moment I walked through the door, the service was genuinely lovely, and the food was phenomenal! I could literally taste the care and love that went into the preparation of the meal. Ahmad is an outstanding host, he takes the time to get to know his guests and treat them like family. Dining here was the most enjoyable part of my week-long stay in Omaha.
Very good food and very friendly service. I highly reccomend!
Food was good. Beautiful place to dine. The waitress charged my card for the wrong amount. They took it upon themselves to charge my card for more than what was signed. This is fraud. I called the store and the owner seemed like what he did was not wrong. I will not be returning.
I stopped in to get some food to take back to my hotel room but the owner told me to stay and eat. He even told me what I was going to order - it was DELISH!!!
We had a superb meal there today. It was crazy busy and the poor waitress was working so hard to help people. Really nice ambiance and the food was exceptional. We brought our friend from Egypt and he was thrilled with the food. This will be one of our regular stops in the O.M.
Ahmad suggested and encouraged a piece of chicken, slice of tomato, and some rice in the same bite. Then between bites take a little bite of the banana. Absolutely fenominal! I have spent a decent amount of time in the middle east, I'd say this is certainly the best Persian style food that I have had in America. I would also say it ranks among the top three places that I've been to in the middle east.
It was immediately apparent how much passion the owner has for his business, and sharing his cuisine with customers. He offered great suggestions on what to try along with advice on how to properly eat the dish to experience the full flavor. The food was as flavorful and delicious as it was beautiful. I'm very happy we decided to stop by and try something new.
Best service I’ve ever received! Went back the next day and Ahmad remembered my name!! Great, authentic food in a lovely location
Make sure you eat a fork full of rice, tomato and protein at the same time. It is the only way to fly.
So good! Highly recommend! The place is run by one man who does everything who is clearly passionate about Middle Eastern cuisine and most importantly is a great cook! Also I loved the colors inside and the beautiful paintings on the wall
Ahmad's is our favorite restaurant! The lamb kebabs are fantastic. The staff is always friendly and the service is amazing! Amhad himself is always so cheery and inviting!
Just the best restaurant around! Tasty food, simple meal with great seasoning. Porc, lamb, chicken and veggie meal. Great appetizer. The tomato mix with rice and meat is amazing. The baclava dessert are just so good. It is a culinary voyage to new taste and different spices. The ambiance is warm and simple and the owner is welcoming. Thanks Ahmad for your good food.
Great food and wonderful service. Ahmad took the time to tell me all about his food and his restaurant. His passion for food is evident in every bite. This place is a gem. I had the chicken and pork Persian split, and I'll definitely be back to try something else as well.
What a great “find” with lots of character and even more flavor. Truly a family run spot with genuinely friendly service and yummy food. Ahmad is a great story of making it here. Thank you for making me feel welcome and for the entire experience.
Food was great, friendly service. A little pricey I thought, I will go back though.
The owner is amazing !! The food is amazing ! And they are so friendly they make you feel right at home I will definitely be going back ! I recommend no substitutions and ask them what’s good because they are more then happy to help ! Plus every advice they threw my way was amazing because the spices are so original and the meat so fresh everything is so fresh ! I can’t stop raving about it !!!
Lovely restaurant and owner! Food was tasty and portions were large.
Awesome food! Went in to get change for the meter and gave us a few extra coins for a bit more time as well. Ahmads a very nice guy and a great cook
Ahmad's provided all the things I was looking for as I was passing through Omaha. I had the kabob kubideh at the advice of the waitress, which I enjoyed very much. The flavor of the meat, tomato and rice combination was perfect. And I'm very grateful for the ways the waitress suggested I eat the meal for the best experience. "A little meat, rice, and tomato all in one bite is best, then a bit of banana to cleanse the palate." I always appreciate a host who gives me a bit of cultural orientation to foods I don't normally eat. I had a side of beans, as well as hot tea (a must!)The entire check was less than $20, which was an outstanding value for all I had. And, of course, Ahmad was an outstanding host. He took the time to greet me, check on me, and make sure I was well cared for. The atmosphere is charming and even the architecture helps lend to the old world ethos. A+
Such a warm atmosphere. Great food and delicious vegetarian options. Highly recommend!
Best Persian restaurant I've experienced in Omaha. Family ran establishment with a small staff and freshly made dishes. Ahmad is super nice and welcoming and the food seems to be pretty authentic Persian cuisine. Not a huge menu but a decent variety of options, I would suggest the Tehran Chicken. Food is a little expensive and there is a wait because it's made fresh, but I think it's definitely worth both the wait and the price. Prices are a good bit better at lunch.
